MGF Policies

Midwest Grass & Forage makes every effort to ensure that our customers get what they ordered and are satisfied with their purchase. However, occasionally errors do happen. Please check out each policy below to see if it applies to your situation:

Shipping / Damage Policy:

While errors are very uncommon, they do occasionally occur. If you notice a mistake within your shipment or damage, please notify us with in (7) seven days, and we will work to replace or correct your shipment. 

If your shipment arrives damaged, please take photos of the inside and outside of the shipping container, as well as any damaged products. If it is possible to get the tracking number in a photo it makes it easier for us to file a claim against the shipper if necessary. 

Please send all documentation to info@midwestgrass.com along with your name, phone number, and order number. Our team will reach out to rectify the situation. 

Delayed Shipments - if your package does not arrive within 2 days of the scheduled arrival time according to your tracking number, please reach out and let us know that the shipment has been lost. 

Returns:

Midwest Grass & Forage has limited return policies, due to the short lifespan of our product and it's sensitivity to environment. We limit returns to within 10 days of purchase. We reserve the right to reject any returns based on any damage to the product, packaging, labeling, and other causes as determined by our team. We cannot accept returns on custom mixes for any reason. Bags that are opened, ripped, damaged or unsellable in any way will be refused.

​Returns of non-custom mixes and individual species must be made in the original unopened bags within 10 days of purchase. Once a bag is opened, it is no longer returnable. Custom seed mixes may not be returned under any circumstances. When returning non-damaged goods, the buyer is responsible for the return shipping  and will have the initial shipping charges deducted from their return. If the product was a "free shipping" product, $8 per item will be deducted. No credit will be given for products that are damaged/opened or otherwise deemed unsaleable, including, but not limited to initial shipping costs, or other expenses incurred.

Replant/Refund Policy:

Midwest Grass & Forage, is proud of the products that we offer and truly believe that they offer exceptional quality and value for our customers. We hope that every customer is satisfied with their purchase, but know that not everyone always achieves the results that they hoped for. 

Seeding can be challenging as it depends on many factors including soil preparation, timing, weather and more. MGF cannot and will not be held liable for failure of stand due to weather events (including, but not limited to: drought, excess moisture, hail, wind, or other), agronomic events (including, but not limited to: pest infestation, disease infestation, etc.), improper fertility, misuse of product, or other man-made events.​​

In the rare event that the seed fails due to a case other than human error (depth, timing, lack of fertility, seed to soil contact, or other error) or mother nature, we will work with you to determine the cause. If you feel that an establishment issue is not the result of error or weather, please take pictures and document the instance within 14 days of planting, and send photos to info@midwestgrass.com.

Midwest Grass & Forage guarantees that our products meet the labeled requirements provided on the bag tag. No other warranty or guarantee is expressed or implied. Midwest Grass & Forage will not be responsible for losses incurred other than the original cost of the seed. 

We have a limited selection of products that our offered with a partial replant policy. For the 2026 growing season the following products have a 50% retail price replant policy if a claim is submitted within 60 days of establishment or 120 days of purchase (whichever is shorter), and verified by one of our agronomists:
